You probably know bamboo as an ornamental plant in gardens?

Bamboo is biologically an evergreen sweet grass and grows around the equator on almost every continent. There are 45 genera and 200 species. Plantations of bamboo are very favorable ecological solutions, since use of pesticides is not needed. Bamboo also is a naturally antibacterial and fungicidal (killing fungus and spores) and quite resistant to pests.

The grasses can be up to 30 m high, with a thickness of up to 30 cm. Bamboo has similar properties to wood.
